Seven Tips You Need to Know About
Revision is never fun so we aren’t going to sit here and tell you that it is! However, what we can do is make it as approachable and manageable for you as possible.
With our revision tips, you can go into this journey with some inside knowledge on what you can expect, how you can maximise your revision time and also how you can still have productive revision breaks.
What can you expect?
Knowing what to expect always helps you mentally prepare for the test you’re going for. So, let’s start with the basics. Booking your Theory Test will cost you £23 and will be taken on a computer at an official DVSA test centre. It will consist of two individual tests that are sat one after another.
The multiple-choice section, in which you will sit first, will need a score of 43/50 to pass. The second half is the hazard perception, you will need to score 44/75.
You will find out straight after your test if you’ve passed or failed.
Think ahead.
There is a lot to cover so don’t leave your revision last minute. With over 700 potential test questions, cramming the night before just won’t be enough time.
We recommend small but frequent revision stints. Half an hour a day for a couple of months will give you the time you need to cover all modules.
Our app, The Complete Theory Test Kit, provides you with your very own Learner Plan. Avoid missing questions, answering the same questions over and over, and revising aimlessly by sticking to our plan.
Guarantee a pass.
We’re so confident that our App will help you pass your Theory Test first time, we will refund you your test fee if you don’t with our Pass Guarantee scheme. In order to make a claim, you must first prove that you have reached a high standard of revision within the Complete Theory Test Kit app. Find out more here.
Broaden your revision!

Revise on the go.
Revision doesn’t have to be you sitting alone at home for hours on end. Take any spare moment you can to cover a module or take a mock test.
Have you got a long drive coming up? A long bus ride? Waiting for a doctor’s appointment or in an airport lounge? Instead of getting in a scroll-hole, get your phone out and do a quick 30 minutes on The Complete Theory Test Kit app.
It is a much better use of your time and you’ll feel great afterwards.
The guessing game!
When you are out on driving lessons, or even when you are a passenger, play the guessing game. Ask your instructor or parent to quiz you on road signs, road rules and potential hazards and see how well you do.
If your test is quickly approaching you should be answering all the questions correctly. If you’re not, more revision is needed!
Get in the zone.
We know it is a nervous time but the night before your test needs to be spent wisely. Get a good night’s sleep, have a last-minute look through your app, and prepare yourself for the next day. In the morning, have a good breakfast and stay well hydrated.
Do not be late for the test and make sure you have the right documents that you need for your test, including your provisional license.
Good luck!
