Which cars can’t be used in the practical driving test?
If you’ve read our previous post you’ll know it’s possible to take the practical driving test in your own car. However, there are some cars that aren’t allowed on the practical driving test.
Cars not allowed on the practical driving test are:
- BMW Mini convertible
- Ford KA convertible
- Toyota iQ
- VW Beetle convertible
These cars can’t be used in the practical driving test because they don’t give the examiner all-round vision. There may be other vehicles not allowed on the driving test too.
Before booking your test check with the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency if your car can be used.
Always check if you want to use a:
- convertible car
- panel van
- coupe (a car with a fixed roof, two doors and a sloping rear)
